Request ServiceAt Mahan’s Thermal Products, we specialize in delivering top-tier solutions for heat transfer equipment including service for this equipment. Based in Covington, GA, we offer comprehensive services both onsite and at our shop, ensuring your systems operate at peak efficiency. Our expert team provides chemical treatment, cleaning in place (CIP), or power washing to keep your equipment in optimal condition.
We pride ourselves on our ability to service all brands of plate and frame heat exchangers, delivering expert care regardless of the manufacturer. Whether you rely on Mahan’s for its advanced engineering or our skilled team in Covington, GA, we have the experience and tools to handle them all. From onsite chemical treatment (CIP) to in-shop power washing, we ensure your equipment—no matter the brand—operates at peak performance.
Scale, biological growth, and process residue build up on heat transfer surfaces over time, raising approach temperatures, increasing pumping energy, and driving up utility costs. Regular cleaning restores your exchanger to near-original performance and extends equipment life. We offer three service methods, matched to your equipment, chemistry, and downtime tolerance.
Our technicians disassemble the exchanger at your facility, clean each plate or tube, inspect or replace gaskets, and reassemble with pressure testing. This minimizes downtime with no unit removal required.
For sanitary and process applications where disassembly isn't practical, we circulate a matched chemical solution through the exchanger while fully assembled, dissolving scale and fouling without breaking the seal on your process.
Heavily fouled plate and frames and shell and tubes are pulled and transported to our shop, where they're soaked and circulated through dedicated chemical cleaning tanks. Units are then mechanically washed, plates are dye penetrant inspected, regasketed, and units are reassembled and pressure tested.
Fouled plates lose their chevron flow pattern under scale and residue, choking flow and killing heat transfer. Our mechanical and CIP cleaning strips plates back to bare, polished stainless, restoring the full pattern surface so plates perform like new.
Every plate is inspected during cleaning. We flag cracked, pitted, or thinning plates and worn gaskets before reassembly, and replace them with genuine OEM parts, so you know exactly what's replaced and what's simply restored.
Shell and tube bundles are pulled and taken to our shop, where tube I.D. and shell-side fouling are cleared in dedicated chemical tanks. Units are mechanically washed, inspected, reassembled, and pressure tested, returning to service looking and performing like new.
Cleaning isn't just maintenance, it's energy recovery. Our energy auditing service measures how much thermal performance your exchanger has lost to fouling, and quantifies what that's costing you in fuel and pumping energy every month it goes unaddressed.
We put numbers behind the decision to clean. Using inlet and outlet temperatures, flow rates, and pressure drop, we calculate your current heat transfer coefficient and compare it against clean-condition design specs, then translate the gap into real dollars.
From first call to reinstalled unit, we keep you informed at every step and give you a clear picture of plate, gasket, and tube condition before we button it back up.
We assess fouling type, plate/tube condition, and recommend the right cleaning method for your exchanger and schedule.
Onsite mechanical teardown, CIP circulation, or offsite chemical tank cleaning, whichever fits your unit and downtime window.
Plates, gaskets, and tubes are checked for damage; worn components are replaced with genuine OEM parts.
Units are torqued to spec, pressure tested, and returned or reinstalled, ready for full duty.
Whatever's on your nameplate, we've likely serviced it. Our technicians work across every major plate & frame and shell & tube manufacturer.
Send us your make, model, and fouling condition, and we'll recommend the right cleaning method and a turnaround time.
